After viewing the first two episodes of the Shahs of Sunset, and seeing the backlash from those in the Persian community who are upset at the negative stereotyping of Persians, I have come to the conclusion that something must be done in order to combat the perception of Persians left on the viewers by the program. I have decided that we can use this opportunity to come together and create something that can turn the tide in a more positive direction. Together, we can show people all around the world how Persians really are and how they really treat each other. I have come to know the Persian community very well and have seen and heard about the many amazing things that they have done. From innovations in technology and medicine to raising money and awareness for the sick and destitute, Persians have demonstrated that even if you come to a new country with nothing, you can still climb to the top of the ladder and help bring others around you. Please contact me if you would like to help with this project. I have created a facebook group as well. We will be posting clips from the documentary as it comes alive. Stay tuned…
